We went straight from Branson to Dallas for Thanksgiving. We were able to spend time with Joanna and her family and also Jacob, Nanitzi, and Thomas. It was so much fun. The first night we got there we walked in a 5K through the Grand Prairie Christmas light display, called the Sneak-a-Peek run. All their lights were turned on while we walked through. Much warmer then any Christmas light walk through you'll find in St. Louis.

Wednesday we drove to Grapevine to spend the day at Jacob and Nanitzi's house. Dan and Mer came to town for Thanksgiving and met us there. We all hung out, and then that afternoon we went to downtown Grapevine which was near their house and walked around. They had an old train that we all climbed around on and also some old shops and a Christmas Tree and light display. They played music, and the little kids loved to dance while they watched the lights. Wednesday was also my birthday. So after spending some time downtown, we went back to Jacob and Nanitzi's where we ate dinner and I opened presents. It was a great day! I love spending time with my family.

Thanksgiving morning we all got up and started our day with our tradition of running/walking the Fort Worth 5K/10K Turkey Trot. We always have a great time. This year's weather was a little different then we've ever had before, much colder and very windy. But despite the weather, we still had a great time! That day was full of fun. We all watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, then there was some football, and we finished it off with a wonderful dinner that Joanna had put together.

Friday we didn't do too much of the shopping that usually follows on the day after Thanksgiving. We did go and see one of my new favorite movies, Tangled. If you haven't seen it, it's worth seeing.
That night we all helped Joanna get ready for Ellie's birthday party which was on Saturday. It was a silly party so everything was silly! Such a cute idea for a party. We decorated the whole house silly. The next day there were about 7 little girls who all came dressed in their silliest clothes. They made silly hats, played silly freeze tag (with silly string), ate lunch, drank silly soda (homemade root beer) and finished it off with a pinata.

Grandpa made homemade root beer for Ellie's party with dry ice. The little girls loved when he put the dry ice in, and it started smoking. But the best part was when he put his hand down into the smoke. :)

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. It might be because my birthday often falls on Thanksgiving or the fact that I love getting together with family-- one or the other, they are both great things!
