Elder Andrew Moore- Comes home in 31 days!!

Today is December 22nd 2009. I can't believe that Andrew has been out for 23 months now. He comes home one month from today! I am so excited! I always looked up to him and can't wait to see him again. I know he will have changed a lot, and we look forward to seeing that change. We all miss him most at Christmas time. But it will be nice to be able to talk to him on Christmas day. It felt like it would be forever when we took him to the MTC January 16th 2008, but we are looking forward to having him home!! Merry Christmas!!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

Every year we always go to get our Christmas tree from Pea Ridge Christmas Tree Farm. We pulled out our box of Christmas cd's and played them the whole way. We always try to find the right tree. After much debating, we usually find a tree. Dad will cut it down for us, after asking a couple times if we're are sure it's tall enough. But as my mom will say "Ornaments and lights makes any tree look good!" or "It will look great once you put the presents under it!" :)

Silver Dollar City

For my 16th birthday we went to Branson for the weekend. We had a great time. We found a package with 2 days at Silver Dollar City, dinner at Dixie Stampede and two nights in a hotel. It was just what we were looking for! We had a great time. They were all decorated for Christmas. It was so pretty. We saw a lot of shows inside Silver Dollar City. They had a really neat performance of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol". We love theatre so we spent most of our time walking around looking at lights and watching different shows.

Shaia Jade

On the 14th of November my older brother, David, and his wife, Ayanna, had their little girl. She was 8lbs. 4oz., 21 and 1/2 inches long and as cute as can be. We were so excited for them. This is their first child! We were able to drive to Kansas City to see her Sunday the 15th. We also went again on Saturday the 21st. Here are a couple of pictures of my niece. Build A Bear Workshop

We went to Build a Bear Workshop with Joanna, Ellie, and Carter the day before they left. Ellie loved it!! She was able to pick out her bear, stuff it, give it a heart, give the bear a bath and also a name. After we made Ellie's bear "Tiara", we made a bear for Carter.

Fall Part 2

We also went to a pumpkin patch while Joanna was here. The kids loved the playground more than anything else!!

They were all very fascinated with the haunted house. They would stand there and look at the displays for several minutes. Carter enjoyed it just as much as the girls!

Fall Happenings!

I love fall!! This fall has been so fun! I love the cold rainy days and the color of the leaves changing!! This past week my sister, Joanna, came to visit with her kids. We went to Eckerts Apple Orchard for a bonfire and hayride night. It was a lot of fun!!!

Oftentimes, we take the ferry that they have on the way to the apple orchard. This time we took it to avoid traffic. The kids usually get a kick out of it, but I think they were just to tired on this trip. John is winning over the hearts of the grandkids. They followed him everywhere he went.

Bulldogs Varsity Softball

My niece, Lexy, is the pitcher for her high school varsity softball team. This past weekend she and her team won districts! They ranked number 8 in the state! They had a great season, and we are all so proud of Lexy and her team!! Here is one of many articles from the paper, check it out!!

Balloon Glow

Wow! This was a great night! Every fall they have The Great Forest Park Balloon Race in Forest Park. In the past we would be on the way home from picking apples, and, we would look to see if we could spot any hot air balloons. This year we decided to go down to Forest Park the Friday night before the race for their annual balloon glow. We drove down and met Catherine at the history museum there in Forest Park. We walked through the Katherine Dunham: Beyond the Dance exhibit. After the history museum, we went to dinner at Fitz's. We found a great parking spot for the balloon race. We set out among the huge crowd of people. It was neat watching all the balloons get set up! We had a great time. Unfortunately, it took us 1 and 1/2 hours to even get out of Forest Park. But we did make it home!! We will definitely be putting this on our calendar next year!!

Floating Down the River

A couple of Saturdays ago, we went on a float trip with my sister, Catherine, and her husband, John. Instead of renting rafts and everything from a rafting company, we thought it would be fun to buy our own rafts. Catherine always comes over on Fridays and goes grocery shopping with us. That Friday we took a trip to Dicks Sporting Goods. We found a four man raft on sale for 24.95. We also got a two man raft that was on sale for 12.95. We got both rafts for close to the cost of the rental of one person. We got ores and life jackets at Cabella's. Catherine looked up places to put in. It all worked out despite some of the questions Mom and Dad might have had. :) Overall we took a 6.8 mile float (according to Google maps). It was a great day!!
