My Life continued....

Here is the picture of the villager costumes I mentioned that we are storing in our basement. And just think, this is only half of the costumes!! :) 3 weeks left!!!! June 4th, 5th, and 6th! My Life

This post is for Catherine. She is always bugging me to blog. When I asked her what she wanted me to blog about, she answered "your life", This one's for her!

One of the biggest things I have going on in my life right now is the play that I'm in. We are putting on Beauty and the Beast. With only 4 rehearsals left before the week of the play, it is getting a bit stressful! We only practice once a week for about 3hrs. It is quite an amazing thing that we can actually pull it off with only so few rehearsals, but in the end it does work! This Monday we will start our extended rehearsals (which is only one hour more). My mom has been helping with the costume committee. Most of you have seen our fifteen passenger van. We have taken most of the seats out and we use it to haul all of the costumes back and forth. We also store the many costumes in one of the rooms in our basement. It is tons of fun! I will try to post a picture of all the costumes.

You may be wondering by now what my role is in the play, and I must admit that I am one of the many "Silly Girls" who swoon over Gaston. It gets old but it is also very fun! A couple of weeks ago we performed a few of our songs for a homeschool expo. It was a lot of fun. We all got into some of our costumes, and it gave us a little preview of how much fun the play is going to be this year. I also wanted to give you a preview of what you will see if you come to see our show! Below is a picture of my friend Tatiana and me. We are both silly girls and are both wearing, yes I know, a blonde wig.

A Week in the Lone Star State

We had a wonderful time in Texas! We got to visit with both my brother Jacob and his wife, and also spend the week with my sister Joanna and her family.

-Here is a picture of Ellie playing "Princess" with Grandma. Funny story behind playing "princesses" with Ellie. She has her two princess dolls, Belle and Cinderella, that she will usually play with, and then she gives you any other doll and says that you are the "MAD stepsister"!! :) It's great! If you say anything nice like "please" or "thank you" she will remind you by saying "No, you are the mad stepsister!" It's a ton of fun to play with Ellie.

While we were there we went to Chuck E. Cheese, or as Ellie calls it Chuck N. Cheese!

Horton Hears a Who!

Last week we were able to go down to Texas and spend the week with my sister and her family. One of the many fun things we did while we were there was to play "Horton Hears a Who!". I don't know if any of you have played it before but it is very fun. (This is the way my 3 year old niece plays. I'm not sure if these are the actual rules!) You move around on the board until you land on a clover card, then you put on your "Horton hat" and follow the instructions on the card-- either to hop, crawl or march to the colored clovers which are hidden throughout the room. It is a really fun game!! Ellie running back with her orange clover on the elephant nose!

Murphy Home Makeover

A few weeks ago our good friends the Murphys moved to Germany. In their preparations to move they gave us so many wonderful things. One Monday morning we got a phone call from the Murphys asking us if we wanted their #10 cans of food storage. We appreciated their offer and were able to share much of the food storage with many of my siblings and their families. I think sister Murphy really caught "the vision of food storage"!! :) The most generous gift of all was their living room furniture. It's amazing how beautiful it looks in our living room. We LOVE it!!!!

We love the Murphys and appreciate their great friendship and everything they have done for us for so many years. Even though we miss them here, we hope they have a wonderful time in Germany and look foward to hearing all about their adventures!!
