The Slugs are Back!!

We have a book of "Far Side" jokes, and this is by far our favorite!!

"Kids! Kids!.... The slugs are back!"

We like to tease my mom about being so excited about all the wildlife that we find!! We have had a lot of "the slugs are back!" moments. We had one this morning. My Mom called me into the kitchen to look out our kitchen window. We were very surprised to see what we did. We looked out our window to find this hawk sitting on our fence. He stayed there for about 20mins. It was crazy! We had been airing out our big van because of all the rain. He got pretty close to hopping in! It was a little scary. He finally flew away. It was fun to watch!!

Addicted? Maybe a Little!

Ok, so two of our favorite TV shows are Psych and Monk. They air on Friday nights, which also happens to be the night that my sister Catherine and her husband John hang out at our house. We all love watching Psych and Monk!! The season ended several months ago, and I keep checking the website to find out when the episodes start up again. Today I was checking and was very excited to find out that Psych starts back up August 7th!!!!!! I can't wait!!! Monk usually airs on the same night so I am hoping it will also start back for it's 8th and final season on August 7th!

Fishing in Klondike

Last weekend we had a family campout in Klondike park. Saturday morning we woke up to strong winds, and next thing we knew we were making breakfast in the rain. :) It was great. The campsites had pavilions over the picnic tables. We all huddled under and ate our biscuits and cereal. We had a lot of fun!! Saturday afternoon it cleared up. Grace and the boys stayed and went fishing in the lake. They had a lot of success!! Hot dogs are great bait!! :)

A Trip to Kansas City!

A couple of weekends ago we enjoyed visiting with my brother David and his wife Ayanna! It was a ton of fun! We drove up Saturday morning and saw their new house. Then we went to lunch at California Pizza Kitchen (that was a first for me). The food was amazing! We had a fun shopping trip to the Whole Foods market there in Kansas City. Afterwards we went back their house and enjoyed just talking and also looking at baby magazines. Yes, for those of you who don't know they are expecting in November!!!!! I'm very excited to be an aunt again! It was a great way to spend a Saturday!!!
